I was enthralled by your story. Things were so particular then to individual countries - I wonder if a child of the same age today moving from the Netherlands to Australia would feel just as alienated. What probably has not changed is the cruelty of children! I so understand your desire to become proficient enough in English to disappear. So good that you wrote it all down.
Hello Dijanne, magnifique recueil de souvenirs sur un support qui te ressemble tellement. Dommage que je ne sois pas très douée pour la traduction, merci pour le partage. Amitiés de Ginette / MJC de Palaiseau
What a beautiful book, prints, handwriting and memories. I have similar memories being a British born Chinese in England over forty years ago. Trying to fit it and disappear when, hiding the knowledge of knowing two meanings to most sounds when you are bilingual.. I loved your book! Thank you for sharing it.
lovely book
