Sea Turtles

Another quilt finished- did I tell you I am on a quilting marathon for the next 7 days- that is the countdown for Egypt. Just the binding to go on bu tI like to do that early in the morning and sew it down before 9 - makes me feel I have achieved a lot befor emost people start the day. My shoulders are sore from all the sewing and I will be glad to get on that plane. I think I will try and take hand sewing as we have about 8 hours to kill in Dubai- I can't imagine there is anything exciting there.

I did do some playing around today trying to set up a power point presentation to send with my quilts to France- inspirations and then quilts as they can project onto one of the office walls. It occurred to me that it might be worth putting this on cd and selling it. I don't know the interest there would be for such a thing? Any thoughts?

I would really like to do another book but finding a publisher who will do what I want to do is the thing. I know what people in my classes want to learn and even though publishers say creative process books don't sell well most of the people I encounter in classes are really at this phase- how to harness it- how to develop it, how to subjugate the process to the power of imagination and bring to life what is in the mind. Ok off to relax with a glass of wine and stretch my sore shoulders and leaf through Jamie Oliver and see if he has a good recipe for pork.... Posted by Picasa

I love Jamie Oliver's recipes! Re. your book, I have to agree. I think as the quilt world has exploded in popularity these last few years, many, many quilters are past the stage of just following patterns. If anyone has their finger on the pulse, it would be obvious - I very much hope you will be succesful with this!

A workshop seems to be an excellent place for the instructor/lecturer to sell stuff. I would suggest self publishing a booklet/leaflet and perhaps have an accompanying cd with annotated images. You might not have time to prepare all this before this immediate trip - but I suspect that it is a decent money spinner.
